Ashley Riggitano, the NY fashionista and jewelry designer who leap to her death off George Washington bridge on Wednesday, left a “suicide diary” in her Louis Vuitton handbag with the names of enemies on a “grudge list” among those five girls’ names was the one of her business partner Victoria Van Thunen. She answered many questions about her suicide in the handwritten notes she left behind.
The New York Post went into great detail about the death, including excerpts from Riggitano’s note. The aspiring designer had a history of emotional issues and had tried to commit suicide at least once before, according to the source.
In the notes, Ashley described how she was tormented by five girls, whom she clearly wrote did not want to attend her funeral. It appears Riggitano was bullied by her fashion friends. But all eyes are now on her so-called best friend and business partner, Victoria Van Thunen, who wrote a message within hours of Ashley Riggitano jumping into the Hudson River, that appears to add cruelness to the tragedy:
“Those who incessantly blame others as the cause of their issues should perhaps take a step back and reevaluate these situations.
The common thread may be that “they” aren’t the problem, but rather that YOU are.”
The two young women designed and sold custom bracelets under a company they called Missfits. Before that, Van Thunen worked as Audi Customer Service Representative and as Administrative Assistant and Receptionist in Daynard & Van Thunen Co. Inc. She is currently a nursing student at the New York University.
It is not immediately clear if Van Thunen’s message was in reference to Riggitano, but it may have something to do with the troubled designer, who ended her life on her 22nd birthday.
The other girls Riggitano blames in her diary appear to be friends from college or work, but from the notes it was not clear whether their “offenses” were real.
