Melissa Gilbert’s rep comment she and Timothy Busfield became husband and wife “in a private ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara on April 24,” The mature couple announced their engagement in January and believe it or not they have been crossing paths on and off for 20 years!
Isn’t that a story to tell the grandchildren! The couple who had families on their own have been crossing paths until finally destiny gave them a chance at their love! Think about it, they both were previously married and have children of their previous relationships probably it never crossed their mind to end up like this!
Third time needs to be the charm one for the couple since it’s for both their third chance at tying the knot. “Little House on the Prairie” and “Dancing With the Stars” alum. Gilbert, 48 has two children from her previous unions.
Melissa is ecstatic about their union you can see on her twitter:
mother, actor, director, producer, labor leader, author, chef, nurse, mediator, seamstress, housekeeper, surfer, friend, seeker, activist, drummer, dancer, wife!!!
Now for Busfield the story goes like this; born June 12, 1957 in Lansing, Michigan he became an actor probably inspired by his father drama professor Roger and secretary Jean Busfield.
The actor best known for for his role as Eliot Weston on the television series Thirtysomething and his recurring role on the television series The West Wing , was married to actress and director Radha Delamarter before divorcing in 1986. The couple had son named Willy.
The man works fast when only a couple of years later in 1988 he was married for the second time to fashion designer Jennifer Merwin, with whom he had two children; a daughter Daisy and a son, Samuel. They filed for divorce in 2007.
The 55 year old actor is also the founder of the 501c3 non-profit children’s theatre, B Street Theatre. Let’s go back in time for some of the T.V producer and T.V directors’ work:
Timothy in Movies, he directed “Godd girls don’t”
Busfield in T.V, starred on “Studio 60 on the Sunset Street;” in which he played character Cal Shanley and directed episode “Come Fly with me”
And now is time to star on his real life movie next to new wife, Gilbert. The bride wore a red dress for the ceremony breaking the traditional white color but at their seasoned age some might think it was appropriate, the point is the Longtime TV stars have made it official!
Congratulations!
