Sarai Sierra, 33 year old mother of two young sons, from New York was last in touch with her family on January 21, the day she supposed to fly home after two weeks in Turkey; her husband Steven Sierra and their children are waiting for her safe return home.
Sierra set off for Istanbul on January 7 and has since vanished, she was the one supposed to begin traveling home and was scheduled to arrive in New York City on Tuesday afternoon.
Sarai’s family talked to her for the last time on Monday, the day she was supposed to start her journey back home.
Her brother David Jimenez told The Associated Press that he and Sierra’s husband, Steven, were planning to leave for Turkey on Sunday night.
“I don’t want to come home without my sister,” Jimenez said.
Sierra husband after several hours waiting for her in New York City he called the hostel where she had been staying, the owner checked her room and he found out Sierra Passport, and other personal items.
Sierra’s father went to pick her up at the airport and “waited there for hours” but there was no sign of his daughter, Jimenez said.
Sierra’s sons one ages 11 and 9 still don’t know about their mother missing.
Law enforcement agencies are following a track, because in the email account of Sarai found a conversation with a man identified as Taylan. According to the Daily Mail, the two had set up a meeting at Galata Bridge, in a commercial area of the city.
There is nothing remarkable in her conversation with this Taylan, but the fact that he is the last person she talk to her, makes him a person of interest…
This is a solid lead we have to follow,” said the representative Staten Island, Michael Grimm.
