Jason London, the 90’s movie star best known for his role in “Dazed and Confused”, is married to Sofia Karstens. The actor was arrested Sunday morning after a bar fight at Martini Ranch in the Phoenix suburb of Scottsdale, Arizona.
The 40-year-old actor was with his wife of almost two years, Sofia, when the incident occurred.
“Some guy thought I was hitting on his girl and had me jumped. My wife was in the next room, had no idea what even happened. I hate Arizona,” he wrote on Twitter.
Police officer Ford called Sofia to inform her of her husband’s arrest, to which she replied, “I know he’s an a**hole when he drinks,” and insisted that he would never assault anyone on purpose.
London was arrested for assault and disorderly conduct and released early Monday morning. Scottsdale police say London allegedly sneezed on a man who then asked him to apologize, but London refused and instead hit the man in the face. He was escorted out by bouncers and during that time he hit them, leading the security guards to “defend themselves” against London. The actor, who appeared to be extremely drunk, was also accused of defecating in a police car on the way to jail!
“It smells like s**t in your car and your breath smells like diarrhea.” According to the police report, Jason then leaned to the left and crapped in his pants. Jason then said, “I told you I’m happy as s**t.”
London became engaged to actress Sofia Karstens in November 2010. He proposed in Los Angeles with Karstens grandmother’s wedding ring.
After dating for two years, they married on July 16, 2011 at the home of his wife’s parents, William and Judith Karstens, in North Hero, Vermont. 140 people were invited to the ceremony. The bride wore a strapless Judd Waddell dress as she and London exchanged vows they wrote themselves.
The couple are settling into married life in L.A. London has a 15-year-old daughter, Cooper, with his first wife Charlie Spradling.
The couple first met in 2008 through London’s twin brother, Jeremy London.
“She was my best friend for a very long time,” he says. While shooting a movie in 2009, “I just couldn’t stop thinking about her. I didn’t even realize that I was in love with her.”
Sofia Jeanne Karstens, now known as Sofia London, was born in Montreal, Canada and has dual citizenship in the US and Canada. She is daughter of professional performing artists: her father is a classical musician and her mother a prima ballerina. She graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
