When the multimillionaire Anti-Virus magnate, John McAfee was arrested, he wasn’t on his own…He was with his 20 years old GF Sam Vanegas, where they had checked-in at a fancy hotel where he had spoken with the media already. Vanegas and McAfee were engaged when they escaped from Belize to Guatemala.
Sam and John booked in at a luxurious hotel in Guatemala City after escaping from Belize. There are pics where you can see Sam and John having a great time indoors. Nobody knows or has he spoken about how he did so and had no issues in customs.
When he arrived in Guatemala, he looked for help from attorney Telésforo Guerra, who’s Vanega’s uncle and has influences in the country. He was a an attorney general.
The reason why he was arrested is because Belize wants him back since he is suspect of murdering Gregory Viant Faull. He was shot in early November on the island where they lived. They were neighbors and apparently McAfee wasn’t the perfect neighbor…He had many noisy dogs and made parties with many young women.
McAfee, who’s 67, seemed shocked and bedraggled when he was brought into a police car. It was all a scandal, you could see the Interpol and local cops surrounding him.
There is a video which Robert King, a friend of him, filmed and asked him the following:
Where are they taking you John?
- John replied:
To jail.
McAfee was taken in for questioning before he was translated into an illegal immigrants shelter. He hopes to get an asylum status in Guatemala.
McAfee claims he is innocent and that he was blackmailed by local politicians who are now blaming him for this crime.
Belizean policemen and the prime minister denied these accusations and believe John is mentally ill.
His arrest became public when King posted it on FB.
King and Rocco Castoro, form Vice Magazine were filming a documentary based on the runaway.
Castoro wrote:
[McAfee] retained the services of Mr. Guerra. He has agreed to help John untangle the web of confusion and – according to John – corruption that has taken over his life in Belize since April.
John added:
I need a safe place where I can actually speak out. Now that I’m here I can speak freely. I can speak openly.
