Wow! prayers and a lots of love is what sophomore Kevin Ware has received from fans, celebrities, and athletes alike, after his frightening injury on March 31, during the first half of the Elite Eight game between Louisville and Duke, good gracious that was just plain scary!
Born Jan. 3, 1993; son of Lisa Junior and Kevin Ware, Sr. He has three sisters (Donna, Brittney, Khadijah). His personal goal at UofL is to be an all-BIG EAST Conference player, defensive player of the year and to win a national championship. Kevin enjoys spending time with ladies, collecting sneakers and attending parties in his spare time just like any other regular 20 year old and chose to attend UofL because “it’s a great school” in his own words…
But now after the basketball player gruesome injury on Sunday evening some of those goals might change a little.
The terrible accident did not just mean the end of his season and, potentially, his basketball career. It also puts at risk his college education and could leave Ware and his family responsible for medical bills related to an injury that Ware sustained while helping make his university millions of dollars.
This is a true survivor story and hopefully with a happy ending; when the game on Sunday took a fatal turn of events as Kevin’s landed awkwardly and broke his right leg in several places teammates and coaches huddled around him and the tears began to show on the faces who saw the dreadful scene.
Can you imagine the pain he is feeling and all he had on his head was winning the game as he shouted “win the game, win the game” to his teammates and instead of breaking down they turned this tragic moment into delivering all they got at the court and Louisville ended up owning the rest of the game.
But early on Monday morning, April 1st A touching picture posted on Kevin’s Facebook fanpage shows the injured basketball star laying in his hospital bed post-surgery, clutching his team’s Final Four trophy.
Kevin has been nothing but a true warrior and inspiration for all after just one day of snapping his shinbone was just photographed at an Indianapolis hospital looking surprisingly good and back on his feet with the help of clutches, and sure seems like the good wishes were heard as the Louisville team physician has said he doesn’t believe the injury will be career-ending …
We wish him a fast recovery! It was seriously a hard to watch injury!
