It´s been proven when us girls hit certain age we feel a little self-conscious and don’t even want to think about years coming or avoid the dreaded question of ¨how old are you¨ I guess this is what we have here a case of reality hitting you hard in the face like a 125 miles per hour moving train and the actress running from it! What is so wrong about knowing Huong Hoang, aka Junie Hoang real age??
I guess when you have done only low budget movies and still you work like a dog and haven´t really tried the 5 star hotels, the free pass everywhere, million of fans harassing you and you know that jetsetter status…then of course you´ll be just a little upset for being ¨age discriminated¨
That is actually what actress Junie Hoang originally from Texas is basing her lawsuit on!
She attended Texas A&M University earned her a B.S. in Biomedical Science from the College of Veterinary Medicine. She received a teaching certificate in dance and later trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Huong Hoang, aka Junie Hoang, is the Asian American actress suing the Internet Movie Database for posting her age on her public IMDB profile. She claims that the site violated her privacy by posting her age, which has led to a
“substantial decrease in acting credits, employment opportunities and earnings.”
I don’t know if she’s got much of a case, but the arguments are interesting. Two points I want to talk about; I still don’t understand why she would feel so aggravated to the point of a lawsuit and the exhausting trial. Everybody knows how old is Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie or Catherine Zeta Jones or Cameron Diaz or Halle Barry! But let’s be real when you are not as big as they are, you will face things such as ¨age discrimination¨I guess.
Point #2, could this be her way to make her first million bucks?? I mean when you’ve tried everything and are still waiting for that big break ..what she’s got to loose!
Junie who was born July 16, 1971 in Saigon Vietnam and is 41 years old but shhhh!!! has had roles in B type movies as Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver and Hoodrats 2: Hoodrat Warriors during her 20 years in show business.
The Hollywood Reporter has been following the trial with recaps and analysis. Here’s the take on day one, during which Hoang and IMDB battled over the importance of truth and perception in the digital age: Actress Suing IMDb Takes the Witness Stand.
And here is the recap of day two, where things got a little lively, and Hoang was challenged about how much IMDB’s posting of her true age actually affected her acting career.
She received a teaching certificate in dance and later trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts; we certainly have no doubt on her acting skills and her interest include studying martial arts and learning different languages! Anyone interested on hiring this fluent in Vietnamese actress?
Come on girl! lighten up! I don’t think she looks 41 …do you??
