Julia Charlene Merfeld a 21-year-old wife and mother of two young children was caught red handed when she tried to hire a hit man to kill her husband! Shocking and disgusting all at the same time but a true story non the less.
Julia who’s motives were to take down her husband because although it made her sad it was easier than divorcing him erroneously hired an undercover police detective to kill her husband. She first brought her sinister plan to co-worker Carlos Ramos and tried to convince him to be her hit man, offering him $50,000 fee for the job. Ramos in turn alerted police who then set up a series of meetings, which led to Merfeld’s eventual arrest!
During a two day period last April the alleged hit man talked briefly to our black widow inside a car parked in front of a store; little did she know while she gave specifics about how, when and where she wanted the deed done she was being recorded and was actually carving her own ending. The video footage was the product of a sting by the Muskegon County, Mich., District Attorney’s office tipped by Julia’s co-worker and after two days of meetings they had more than enough evidence to charged her.
Julia Charlene was born March 20, 1992; she was booked on April 10 under murder attempt charges. This is clearly the work of a mentally dysfunctional young woman, on the footage you can actually see her smile at one point, looking as if years of miserable life along her husband are finally going to be over or something! She is clearly sick.
Some of her reasons to kill her hubby while she calmly chatted with whom she believe to be the hit man are:
“It’s not that we weren’t getting along … terrible as it sounds, it was easier than divorcing him. You know, I didn’t have to worry about the judgment of my family. I didn’t have to worry about breaking his heart.”
“This is kind of like a clean getaway,” “I mean, it’s going to break my heart when it happens, but it’s something I’ve been thinking about for awhile.”
But there had to be something else right! Always is; the undercover agent was able to get some valuable peace of info as well; the fact that she planned to pay the hit man when she cashed in her husband’s $400,000 life insurance policy! All about money! She clearly had planned it and probably played it in her mind who knows how many times! But she seems cold and collected during that chilling video.
Her Husband and failed victim is believed to be Jacob Merfeld who was born June 09, 1985. The couple moved to Michigan from New Jersey.
Merfeld pleaded guilty June 27 to solicitation for murder and is set to be sentenced July 30. She faces for a minimum of six years in jail.
