No question about it, the death of Steve Jobs has been one of the most highly diffused in recent history. But it appears to be that for one person Steve is still alive! Let’s find out a little more about Jobs’ biological mother, Mrs. Joanne Schieble Simpson.
Steven Paul Jobs was born February 24, 1955 to Joanne Carol Schieble. We know very few details about her, she is now 80 and she has kept a very low profile. All that’s known about her personally is that she worked as a speech pathologist.
Joanne was born in Wisconsin to Irene and Arthur Schieble on August 1, 1932, she was a 23-year old woman who lived in the state of Wisconsin. Joanne and Abdulfattah Jandali (Steve Jobs’ real father) were both students at the University of Wisconsin in Madison which is where they met and dated; and wanted to get married, but Schieble’s conservative father would not allow it.
Then Joanne who had a college education was forced in to give his baby boy for adoption but not first without making sure the future parents of her boy be just as well educated. Unfortunately, the candidates, Paul and Clara Jobs, did not meet her expectations; they were a lower-middle class couple that had settled in the Bay Area after the war.
Paul was a machinist from the Midwest who had not even graduated from high school. In the end, Joanne agreed to have her baby adopted by them, under the firm condition that they later send him to college. The Jobs eventually adopted another baby Patty Jobs, Steve’s sister.
Jandali and Joanne Schieble actually got back together a year after Jobs’ birth, and eventually married, giving birth to a second child, daughter Mona, though they later divorced.
Joanne was 34 when on April 23, 1966 she remarried to an American named George Simpson, whose last name she took and so did her daughter Mona.
It’s been reported that when Steve Jobs grew up, he found his mother and the two kept in touch also forging a relationship with his biological sister
Sadly and despite the reconciliation; with Jobs passing it seems his mother might be the only person who doesn’t know about his death; Joanne suffers from dementia and her condition has so far deteriorated she’s been admitted to a mental hospital after neighbors reported seeing her wandering the streets half naked. Her daughter Mona moved her to a more suitable nursing home.
Jobs knew about his birth mother’s mental condition and is said secretly to have helped her financially.
It’s been known our parents will only want what’s best for us; but for Joanne a well-educated family and a college degree just weren’t in Steve Jobs’ destiny, and just look how that turned out!
So what do you think of Joanne Simpson, a professional who had to make probably the hardest decision at an early age but had the opportunity to meet her son. Share your comments about her!
