Now that it finally feels like fall is upon us this just means one thing! Snuggling weather making a big change on our wardrobe!
One of the things I love about the fall is that I get the perfect excuse to wrap myself up with scarves!!! And I’m sure it’s one of your favorite things too of this cool yummy weather! There is no reason to believe you can’t look chic just because you have the need to cover yourself up a little more! Just imagine yourself living in London! Roaming around Tower Bridge!
Our fall wardrobe must have some basic pieces and one of the great things I’ve notice about my outfits is that I can always look elegant yet comfortable in my scarf and boots.
Now take a look at my top 10 must have fall items in your wardrobe:
1. The Thick-Striped Sweater. In the chunky knits and cropped cuts, find one you can wear with long skirts and high-waisted jeans alike.
2. The Maxi-Coat. Don’t say you’re too short to wear one…you’re not! A long sweeping coat with a tight cinch at the waist is not only elegant, it’s a practical piece you must have.
3. The Midi-Skirt. Despite its questionable rep, I love the midi with sleek platforms, textured tights, and lots of layering on top. The trick: Make sure yours hits just above or below the widest part of your calf.
4. The Velvet Trousers—No question, velvet is the day-to-night fabric for fall.
5. The Paisley Scarf. We’re not saying you should toss your favorite black cashmere scarf, but as summer gently fades to fall, fight the late afternoon chill with a pretty paisley scarf instead. The print will make that perfect fall blazer feel that much more up to date. Look at the cool and vibrant paisley print in the picture above gorgeous!
6. The Loafer. With a chunky heel or flat and academic, fall is the perfect time to pull out your favorite penny loafers or indulge in a high-heeled pair.
7. The Knee-High Boot. Once again, the ’70s vibe is sweeping through our closets, but instead of wearing these cool knee-high staples in the traditional way, why not try them with a long sheer dress or that leather pencil skirt you’ve been lusting after.
8. The Colored Bag. The easiest way of injecting a hearty dose of color into an outfit is with a cheerfully colored bag. Neon, jewel tones, or pastels all work!
9. The Camel-Colored Leather Jacket. Black is nice but camel’s better! A buttery-soft leather jacket in a neutral hue will quickly become your go-to topper to brave dropping temperatures
10. The Pleated Mini-Skirt. Granted, a pleated mini might conjure images of prep school, but this season’s version is exceedingly sharp and more elegant, not to mention divine with a pair of heels or those low suede booties.
Well, there you have it my selection. All the pieces in my opinion are equally important but you can also make your own list or add more items if you like! Share your comments!
