Imagine being fired over doing your job? Well, this is what happened to a lady named Earline Davis! Monday morning Davis who used to work as an operator for the ObamaCare hotline was surprised when she received the call from Fox News and radio host Sean Hannity, she politely answered all the questions Hannity asked but she was even more surprised when the next day she was escorted out and let go!
Sean spoke on-air with employee Erling Davis about promised improvements to the Obamacare website. Hannity brought Davis back onto the show on Thursday, and she revealed that she had been let go after their conversation. Dsvis who is the mother of two children explained she was escorted up to HR and told that she would be released from the company, she was told by her employer she was not permitted to have contact with the media but she claimed she was never told this and had no idea that this was company policy. She explains:
“I was just out here trying to help everybody,”
The young mother was clearly put on the spot when she was asked questions she did not have the answer for and was even mocked on how she was trained for a week only to learn a script that said
“Thanks for your interest in the health insurance marketplace. We are having a lot of visitors trying to use our website right now. This is causing some glitches for some people trying to create an account or log in. Keep trying and thanks for your patience. You might have better success during off-peak hours like later at night or early in the morning. We’ll continue working to improve the site so you can get covered.” And that’s it.
Davis who lives in Panama City, Florida did not realize her job was being put on the line; she was only earning a yearly salary of $26,000 has been receiving an outpouring support from viewers and everyone who hears about her case. She was not only grilled with questions about the website’s rollout but because of it she also had no idea that the phone call would lead to her firing.
But her story has a happy ending.
Hannity brought Davis on his show to detail her firing and also to make her a generous offer, the conservative radio host has gifted the mother of two a year’s tax-free salary of $26,000 and has promised to help her find a new job. He felt there was no logical explanation to her firing and clearly felt bad he was the cause of it.
“I’m very sorry that you had to go through that,” “I don’t want you to have to pay a price just for taking our call. So I want to help you out here.”
Anyone else could have answered that call, but it was her luck? Do you think she was wrong to answer his questions?
