The photo of Carlee Soto crying holding the phone was on the front page of not just every newspaper in the U.S but the world, Carlee is the sister of the 1st grade teacher at Sandy Hook that used her body to save the lives of her students from shooter Adam Lanza.
It’s been two years since I saw my sister for the last time, she moved with my adorable nephews out of the country, I miss her everyday but at least I can talk to her and I know that when the money comes I will be able to get a plane ticket to see her, but sadly for Carlee Soto seeing her beautiful sister Vicki again is not possible.
Carlee’s heroine sister died saving her students at Sandy Hook Elementary School she is remember by he family, friends, students and every soul who heard about this terrible tragedy, Vicki Leigh Soto is a hero and her memory will live forever.
Carlee is one of the beautiful children Donna Fagan Soto and her husband Carlos Soto had, her photo represented the tragedy at Sandy Elementary, but for Carlee is a constant reminder of the worst moment of her life, her older sister, and one of her best friends was gone.
Vicki was the first grade teacher who his her students inside the closet, she told Lanza the children were in another classroom, but 6 children panicked and tried to escaped, Ms. Soto put herself in the line of fire giving the children an opportunity to escaped, tragically they all were shot multiple times.
The heroic act Vicki did came as no surprise to her family, she was brave, and she loved her students who she called “Her little angels” with all of her heart.
“She was truly selfless,’ she said. ‘She would not hesitate to think to save anyone else before herself and especially children.”
“She loved them more than life, and she would definitely put herself in front of them any day, any day, and for any reason.”
“We heard at one point that they found some people hiding in a closet and all of us said, “Vicki would never be hiding in a closet, she would be out there protecting those babies”.
“So it doesn’t surprise anyone that knows Vicki that she did this,’ she told CNN. ‘She just loved her kids and talked about them all the time with such fondness and caring. She just adored them.”
Carlee spend hours making green ribbons for her sister’s wake, green was her favorite color, hundred of people honored Ms. Soto by wearing green all over the nation and even expressed their support to Carlee on Twitter.
Carlee Soto’s other siblings are Jillian, and Carlos live with her parents and their cute dog Roxy in Stratford, Conn.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Carlee Soto, her family and friends throughout this sad time family, Vicki is not a heroine just for what she did on Friday December 14, she has always been one.
