It seems the killing of a popular Long Island riding instructor last month has finally come to a favorable turn.
The nationwide search for Brett Knight who is believed to be the responsible for Reisner’s death came to an end when he was arrested Wednesday in Tennessee, federal authorities said.
Equestrian Ross Reisner, 50, was killed Sept. 24 when Knight fired bullets into the home he shared with his longtime partner Kevin Murray in East Setauket, L.I. Murray was wounded.
45-year-old Brett Knight, was arrested at a home in Seymour. To make matters creepier Knight had known 50-year-old Reisner for 20 years, according to family members Reisner was his landlord, Knight was living in an apartment at his home.
Knight was considered armed, volatile and extremely dangerous. He is also HIV positive.
Four years ago, according to a NY Post report Brett worked for American Express since 1990 but was fired due to his condition in 2009, he claimed in a lawsuit.
Knight said he didn’t have a problem at the Financial District office until he started working with a new supervisor. When Knight took a sick leave due to complications from his condition, doctors reported his HIV status and sexual orientation on a Family Medical Leave Act application. He eventually lost his job which the company blamed on the need to reduce its work force.
According to records online Brett C. Knight was born on March 27, 1968 and has lived in different places including New York, NY from 2010 – 2011, Sharon, MA and Everett, MA in 2011.
Brett whose been said suffered psychotic breakdown had been messing with both Ross and his partner and it got to a point where the couple had to take action.
Brett was charged with second-degree harassment for allegedly ‘alarmed, harassed and annoyed’ Mr Murray but failed to appear before a judge in First District Court in Central Islip on September 4th to answer the charge.
Brett Knight who is from Manhattan would be returned to New York.
