Bella Tsarnaev, sister to the men accused in the Boston Bomings, was in a New Jersey court today on charges of marijuana possession and distribution. According to the Record newspaper reports, she will be admitted into a pretrial intervention program, and her record will most likely be wiped clean. The case was adjourned on Monday while their attorneys work on a plea deal for her boyfriend.
Bella and her boyfriend were charged when police, responding to a domestic violence call in December, 2012, searched their home in Fairview, New Jersey, after smelling marijuana.
Tsarnaeva’s brother Dzhokhar is charged with carrying out the April 15 attacks in Boston with his older brother, who died in a police shootout. She has never been implicated in the attack.
Bella has never been implicated in the Boston attacks. Very little is known about her. Only that she lives in Fairview, N. J. and was quite close to her brother Tamerlan. She is anxious to integrate herself into American society according to a friend. She will have to mend her ways if that’s what she really wants.
