Christopher Dorner, former LAPD Harbor Division police officer, who is suspected of killing four people, including two police officers in California, has reportedly died after a gun battle with the police.
It seems to be the end of a statewide six-day manhunt in Big Bear, north-east of Los Angeles. Local news reports said Dorner had broken into a home, tied up two people and stolen a pickup truck. Chris had a violent shootout with the police, then he barricaded himself in a cabin, and soon after it erupted in smoke and flames.
Although the body inside the cabin hasn’t been positively identified as Chris Dorner, police say it’s likely the body belongs to the accused cop killer, sources tell NBC news.
America’s most wanted man used to date Ariana Williams, they dated for six weeks. His former girlfriend called him “severely emotionally and mentally disturbed”, the two split in 2006.
Court documents obtained on Friday show Dorner unsuccessfully requested a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend after she posted his badge number on a website called Dontdatehimgirl.com. In the online posting, Ariana Williams called Dorner “twisted” and “super paranoid” and warns other women on the website not to date him.
“Just be careful because this guy is a police officer and he will probably think that he can get away with anything. … If you value your sanity, stay away from this guy.”
Williams says Dorner fabricated stories, and that’s the reason why the judge involved in his disciplinary hearings dismissed him from the department.
According to an interview she gave to KABC Los Angeles:
“He would leave firearms all over my house. There’d be one, he’d be in the bed and there’d be one by the bed. There’d be one on the kitchen counter. There may be a combat knife or something, maybe I saw, in the bathroom one day or in the kitchen. He said, ‘You know, you’re always on duty when you’re a cop. You don’t ever know who is watching you or following you.”
She described Dorner as deeply suspicious, which became even more acute after she read his manifesto. The former couple ended their relationship on a bad note.
“I’m kind of looking behind me,” Williams said. “I had the phone on 911 when I opened my door of the apartment, I mean, just, you know, things you would do if you felt like you didn’t know where somebody was and you didn’t end on good terms with him. Why wouldn’t he come after anyone at this point?”
