Girls, I’m curious: Are shorts OK for the office?
Big no, no or fashion trend setter!
I’m thinking in corporate America no, but! If you work for a record company or in the fashion industry, it’s probably ok. Let’s think of it this way an attorney would be fired; a fashion industry woman would be cheered!!!
What I mean is, it depends in the most part on the industry you are involved in; in other words the culture of your business. I don’t think shorts that short like the ones in the picture are appropriate for work. Don’t get me wrong definitely fun and I’m all about that but it’s not screaming professional attitude and you want to be taken seriously in the work environment right?! The look above let’s save it for an out on the town kind of party! A weekend date with bf or gal pals!
There are other things to consider I find it a very debatable subject. Let’s go to dream world for a bit and imagine your office place allows it, like a free dress code Friday kind of thing you know… are you there? Great! Now, next question to pull this off would be: how comfortable would you feel going to work wearing them? What about your clients, coworkers would they mind working next to a shorts clad girl? You see my point? In the office world, sometimes you are not! The most important person. Sad I know. Some might think although it’s allowed it’s just not professional enough. Let’s face it perverts and haters are everywhere!
There are a lot of mixed opinions some consider it “inappropriate” because they hate how casual the workplace has become and some just love it.
I guess for the lucky ones that can show up in this stylish manner …the question for them would be totally different I imagine it would something like: What shoes and top should I wear with my new shorts?
For those who don’t have to dream take a look at some of my suggestions that I believe are one, comfortable and two, appropriate in a casual dress code kind of joint!
So what do you think? Generally with fitted jackets, a mock or turtleneck, textured black tights, ankle boots … and without fail you’ll get positive compliments about your outfit! I’m sure!
