A disturbing video was released today all over the web, it showed the gruesome moment South African police was handcuffed to the back of their van and dragged for hundred of meters, that young man has been officially identified as Mido Macia was found dead in his cell two hours later.
27-year-old Mido Macia a taxi driver from Mozambique had his hand bounded to the back of the police van in Daveyton in Johannesburg, South Africa, Macias was dragged over 400 meters along the pavement while onlookers watched in horror.
The person who filmed this violent attack distributed the footage and by Thursday it was all over sparking outrage, at lest three police officer participated in brutality, neither of them seemed concerned about people watching or that they were recording the whole thing.
The dragged Macia at slow speed in the beginning when Midi tried to protect himself with his legs, the van then stopped and police officers pulled his legs, dropping them as the van leaves at high speed. Mido Macia was found dead in his cell two hours later. The cause of death was internal bleeding and head injuries.
They said the cause of the arrest was because he was obstructing traffic with his car on Tuesday at about 7 p.m they also said Mido allegedly assaulted a police officer and took his gun before he was restrained. The police officers involved in Mr. Macia’s attack have not been identified no arrest have yet been made.
