I don’t know if it will be a special and very much anticipated day for you tonight but it certainly is for Malyn Morgan McDermott who I’m sure is very excited to know who will win in tonight’s grand finale of The Voice.
Terry McDermott, former lead singer of Scottish band and Geffen Recording artists Driveblind and more recently, Lotus Crush. After things fell through, with his band McDermott left Los Angeles for New Orleans where he settled with his wife, Malyn Morgan and son Liam; where he formed yet another rock and alternative pop band, that’s how Lotus Crush was born in 2009.
The Scottish rock singer from Aberdeen, Scotland is one of the three finalists from The Voice and one of the favorites to win the $100,000 first prize and a recording contract!
It all started when on August 1, 2012, Terry McDermott auditioned for Season 3 of the NBC television show; and he has continuously delivered great performances after that first audition. Disputed between three different judges during the blind audition where he performed the hit “Baba O’Riley“, from The Who he decided to go under judge Blake’s wing. Supportive wife and son were also on the show as part of his motivation.
The finale sure appears appealing since word around says it will be a night of star-studded duets! Cassadee Pope will sing a number with her soundalike idol Avril Lavigne, while Terry McDermott will do a tune with British rocker Peter Frampton and Nicholas David will meet his match in the iconic Smokey Robinson.
The 35 year old singer from Scotland rocked the stage Monday night with his performances, including a killer duet with coach Blake Shelton on Aerosmith’s “Dude Looks Like A Lady” featuring a disguised and shirtless Adam Levine on guitar, he even got to enjoy this proud moment with his dad, I’m sure it will be a nice memory; he sure has had quite the ride on the show and we wish him the very best to him and his beautiful family.
The two-hour Season 3 finale of The Voice airs Tuesday at 9 PM on NBC with a 60-minute recap at 8 PM.
